Beauty in Nature...Not

So for the past few weeks,

I have been picking acorns...

When we went up Rock Canyon.

I was so excited!!!

Until, Autumn and Danny called me into the kitchen,

I don't even want to tell you what they found,

And no...

It was not chipmunks.

In the bowl with my acorns were...

maggots.

Yes, this grossness is true.

I was so heart broken...

And now I don't want to ever see an acorn again.

Even though...

I think they are so cute.

sigh...

The Owls game...

We got free tickets from a neighbor that we work with. We took the family and had a great time.
The Owls kicked butt!!

The Owl came up and grabbed McKenna's Phone.
She chased him around until he finally gave it to her.
We couldn't stop laughing.
What a perfect way to end summer.
================================================
I have always liked going to baseball games. When I was little, my uncle Jay would take us to games.
This is a sweet memory of mine.
Now, my dad loves going to the Owls games and the whole time, I wished he was there. We have gone to a few games together over the years.
I sure love my dad.

When I was young, I played Youth Coach Pitch.
My Dad NEVER missed a game or practice.
He was so good to me.

Now he is helping coach my sister Morgan's games.
I went and took pictures awhile ago.

A couple years ago, I was having a hard time.
We stopped by my dads house and ended up playing baseball at the baseball park by his house in Lehi.
It was the fist time in awhile that I felt alive.
I will always remember that day.
Always

Acorns...

Your kids will go nutty for these clever fall treats, which look like acorns but taste a whole lot sweeter.
Ingredients
  • Chocolate Frosting or Peanut Butter
  • Donuts
  • Crumbled Toffee
  • Pretzel

Instructions
  1. Frost a third or so of a plain or glazed doughnut hole with chocolate frosting or peanut butter.
  2. Roll the frosted top in crumbled toffee (look for it in the baking section of grocery stores), then add a small piece of a pretzel for the stem.

Sunrise...Sunset...

I am telling myself that today...
The sun came out to play.
So I should be the best that I can be today.
If I need a little help...
Get on my hands and knees...
and trust in the Lord.

Today is a day full of possibilities.
Of creating new dreams and reflecting on the old ones.

Today...

I can lose my old self,
and become a self loving, positive person.

IF not for me,
then...
for my wonderful kids and dearest husband....

And as the sun sets...
I hope...
It's not just another day that I failed.
That I waited for the next sunrise to do it all again.

I hope...
I find inner peace.
And that it stays with me for every sunrise and sunset.

If I trust in HIM...
I know that HE will show me the way...
