Lindsey Stirling...

I saved up some money and took all the kids except McKenna who is weird and doesn't totally love Lindsey Stirling. We gave her ticket to Autumn so she came with us.

It WAS AMAZING! She is so much fun to watch and so cute.

It was great to have the family there together for our favorite violinist/dancer/comedian/singer.

 Alisha, Taisha and Danny.

Skyler.

I find Lindsey so inspiring and I love to listen to her to relax.
Thank you Lindsey for not giving up after America's got talent
and bringing joy into our lives!!

Spring Concert...

Singing Through The Decades

Ashley, Sage, and Alisha singing in their choir concert.

I like the look on Alisha's face. She is so pretty.

You can tell which one is her by her short height.
You can almost see her whole face.
Now I see her.

Angels among us...

Therapy has been pretty good so far. My cardiologist Dr. Packer, therapist Dr. Williams and family doctor Shawn Gibbs worked together to get my insurance to pay for a better anxiety/depression medicine. It costs a lot, but we are hopeful that this one will work and keep my heart from being distressed by simply being me.
I am finding music to be a huge part of my therapy. Through music we can empathize and relate to other people and express our sadness, love, happiness, anger and being stronger for ourselves.

I loved playing the piano and flute. I felt my soul being lighter and brighter.

Same with dance. That is my true passion. When dancing I don't think, my body just moves with every note and beat.

I may look stupid, but it is a life force....

All the elements coming together through self expression. All the tension, sadness and worries replaced by peace, joy and creativity.

I am saddened by schools getting rid of the arts and music in schools. I read about The Sarah McLachlan School of Music which provides music education to underserved and at-risk youth at no cost. The school is dedicated to helping young people build community and find their voice. A therapy source.

She says "When I was growing up, we had music in our schools. It was a given. These days many of these programs are not available. I don’t know what I would have done without music in my life when I was growing up. I was unpopular and picked on, but for me, music was my refuge and solace – the one thing I knew I was good at; it fed me and kept me going.”
- Sarah McLachlan

When Sarah McLachlan asked herself what music had given her, she realized that music had taught her that she was good enough, that she had something to offer. This feeling of pride and self worth was paramount to her growing up. Music gave her the tools she needed to make it through the challenges she faced in life. The thought that there were children who might not experience the joy that music brings seemed unacceptable to her. She decided that she could make a difference by bringing music into the lives of young people who might not have access to music education. For Sarah, music is a gift. It is a powerful fire that can ignite passion and energy.

I wish I could find a way to do something for others the way she did instead of feeling so powerless...

So I donated money to the school in honor of my Grandma, Jane Kimball Lamb, who truly inspires me and who taught me the love and magic of music with her gifts and love of the violin.

Sarah McLachlan's "Angel"

This song has lifted me and also reminded me of my dear cousin who had an addiction to meth. I always thought of her and prayed for her to find peace. When it was played at her funeral I cried. This was her song, but now it is too my song. Angels were with me and took me away from the excruciating pain and fear for just a little while until I was ready to come back.

Super Bowl...

We went up to my Grandparents or Great Grandparents to the kids, to watch the Super Bowl like we did when we were young and teenagers. We love the snack food and having family around. When we were younger, we would go to the basement and watch tv or play Nintendo.
She won't crawl, but maybe walk? Love my Miss Sunshine.
Me and my Alisha.
My true love and me.

Autumn said no taking pictures of her so I had to be sneaky...hehehe

Me and my sweetie.
Taisha was soooo into the game.
McKenna wasn't.
Austin played games and DS with the boys.

The family watching and enjoying time together.

Jared and Miss Sunshine.
Uncle Jay Poll had us come downstairs and sing karoke. He kept saying Alisha had talent. :)
Chris, Skyler, Tyler, Austin, Auctober and Jared playing games.
Sillies.
Our sleeping Miss Sunshine with McKenna and Taisha.
Now sing....
Auctober loved to dance while we sang.
Pigging out!
Grandpa Lamb in the background watching the vultures eat.

Great Grandma Lamb had so much fun with Aunya.

This was an amazing night. We all laughed and had fun. They laughed especially at me when I tried to sing because my voice is so bad with the bad vocal chord :( I took it well and just had fun anyways.

My Grandpa talked to me a lot about how I felt and how he felt. We are both scared of the pacemaker/defibrulator and of what is real and not. Having someone to share with was wonderful. He has had many heart attacks and has the most stints in you can have, that is why they chose the ICD for him. I sure do love him. He has always been the one who comforts me when I was sad. He may not be my blood gpa, but he IS my gpa forever.

Cut...

"Cut" by Plumb

I'm not a stranger
No I am yours
With crippled anger
And tears that still drip sore

A fragile frame aged
With misery
And when our eyes meet
I know you see

I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists I find it when
I am cut

I may seem crazy
Or painfully shy
And these scars wouldn't be so hidden
If you would just look me in the eye
I feel alone here and cold here
Though I don't want to die
But the only anesthetic that makes me feel anything kills inside

I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists I find it when
I am cut
Pain
I am not alone
I am not alone

I'm not a stranger
No I am yours
With crippled anger
And tears that still drip sore

But I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists I found it when
I was cut

I LOVE THIS SONG, NOT ONLY IS IT BEAUTIFUL, BUT IT SAYS SO MUCH ABOUT ME. SHE IS AN AMAZING CHRISTIAN SINGER AND I HAVE POSTED ABOUT ANOTHER OF HER SONGS.

I KNOW NO ONE WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE GONE THROUGH, BUT ONE THING I KNOW IS "I AM NOT ALONE"
HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN WITH ME,
AND I MIGHT NOT KNOW HOW TO HEAL EMOTIONALLY YET,
BUT HE HAS A REASON FOR ALL OF THIS.

Joys of Christmas Music...

Last night the girls and I went to the Stake Christmas Concert. It was a wonderful time spent with the girls listening to each ward sing and all of us singing. The music was so beautiful and brought the spirit.

At the end, Stake President Roberts got up and told us about his married kids having a hard time trying to find him a Christmas present. They asked him what he wanted or needed and he said...

I only want one thing. My family with me.

He later talked about trying to forgive, helping others, being grateful for the miracles Heavenly Father bestows on us and sharing the joy of life with others.

I sat there a little surprised.

Why you ask? Are these things uncommon to hear?

No, I have been trying to live each day one day at a time and trying not to take things for granted. I am also trying really hard to get rid of negativity in my life and forgive. Forgiving is hard, and trying to help my friends and family. I want them all to know how lucky they area and to not take each day for granted.  I may fail a little at these things or may go about it wrong, but at least I am honestly trying and it is coming straight from my heart.

Oh, and I realized that since my incident, I have seen too many miracles to mention and so grateful to be alive and here to spend this Christmas with my kids.

I haven't felt the spirit in so many years, but this year I am full of love and peace and want to spend as much time with my kids and Danny as I can.

That is all I ever want for Christmas.
