Growing up and up...

For the last few years, I have been growing my garden from seeds. I have had a lot of luck so far, but always know that transplanting them into the sandy soil I have here has 50/50 odds of surviving.
This year I am growing green beans, watermelon(my first time trying), squash, white pumpkins, carving  pumpkins, jalapenos, green peppers, lettuce, rhubarb, Swiss chard for Danny, Cilantro and a lot of other flowers.

My lovely weeds in my lawn.
The ivy that I never planted but is all over my yard the last few years.
The mound coming alive.
Sunshine just planted(African Daisies). I bought these at the store.
My favorite...Candy tuft. It brings such joy in the spring with the white flowers, but is also pretty all summer with its green pretty color. I wish the flowers would stay through summer and fall though.
The evening sun.

Growing things is very therapeutic for me. It brings me such joy, even pulling weeds, to be outside.

I find it is a good stress reliever.

My New Found Treasures...

I LOVE gardening and I LOVE decorating! So here is my quick attempt at bringing them together.
This heavy sign was only $1.00.
I am planning on putting it in the garden area as soon as I figure out what to exactly to do with it.
Not exactly perfect, but I like it so far. I found the wood balls at a garage sale. Got all three for .75¢
This napkin holder was only $1.00 and I use it for book holder, and other things.
I bought cool other things, but I have not had the chance to clean them up and take pictures of them.

Soon, I hope to feel more motivated and less down. Sad, crazy first month of Summer.

Aroma Therapy...

Every time I walk outside...

I take a deep breath...

and feel immediately better.

I absolutely love the smell of the neighbors Russian Olive Tree.

I pray and pray that they won't ever decide to cut it down.

Because...

I don't have room in my yard for such big tree.

I even open my windows so the delightful fragrance can soothe my soul...

All day and all night.

HOW TO PLAN YOUR GARDEN...

First, you come to the garden alone,
while the dew is still on the roses...

FOR THE GARDEN OF YOUR DAILY LIVING:

Plant three rows of peas:
1-Peace of mind
2-Peace of heart
3-Peace of soul

Plant four rows of squash:
1-Squash gossip
2-Squash indifference
3-Squash grumbling
4-Squash selfishness

Plant four rows of lettuce:
1-Lettuce be faithful
2-Lettuce be kind
3-Lettuce be patient
4-Lettuce really love one another

 No Garden is without turnips:
1-Turnip for meetings
2-Turnip for service
3-Turnip to help one another

To conclude our garden...
We must have Thyme:
1-Thyme for eachother
2-Thyme for family
3-Thyme for friends
4-Thyme for ourselves
5-Thyme to reflect

WATER DAILY WITH PATIENCE AND CULTIVATE WITH LOVE.

REMEMBER...
YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!
